PRUNER, Jean Mary Pruner

It is with heavy hearts and much love that the family of Jean Mary (Peggy) Pruner (nee O’Neil) announce her passing on November 25, 2025 at the age of 88 years. Peggy passed in her home surrounded by love. Beloved wife of the late Jack Pruner. Jack and Peggy were married for 63 years while raising their 2 daughters, Debbie and Janet in their home on King Avenue in Newcastle. Peggy worked at the Newcastle liquor store for many years and did sewing for many people in the community. Peggy was always there to provide anything her family needed. She was a source of strength. Her greatest gift to us was her love. She never failed to tell us and we loved her in return. Peggy leaves to mourn with loving memories 2 daughters; Debbie Cormier (Conrad) and Janet McCormack. She has 6 grandchildren: Jessica (Nick), Nicole (Joe), Kimberlee (Josh), Colton (Amy), Jamie (Shayne) and Shane (Jessica) and 10 great-grandchildren: Hudson, Aubree, Hayden, Madison, Jayden, Sadie-Rae, Brynlee, Sawyer, Benjamin and Aislee. Peggy is survived by her siblings Mathel, Sharon (Jacob), Ella Mae and Sherman(Lisa) as well as brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Wilbert and Blanche O’Neil and sisters Marion, Norma, Joyce, Lilah and brother Gordon. Special thanks to her amazing Personal Support Workers. Visitation will be held for both Jack and Peggy on December 11, 2025 from 11:00 to 2:00 at the Newcastle Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
