RAY, Harvey Ray

A resident of Chatham-Kent, Melville Harvey Ray passed away at the Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on May 2, 2026 at the age of 86. Born in Windsor Ontario, he was the son of the late Melville and Irene (née Lalonde) Ray. Harvey was the devoted husband of 36 years to Dianie (née Grinage) Ray and a loving father to Richard Ray and Candace Shawcross.

He dedicated 38 years his life to the Canadian military, proudly serving with the Corps of Engineers, with postings ranging from Korea to Germany. His commitment to his country was a source of great pride throughout his life. When not in uniform, Harvey found his greatest joy in the outdoors. An accomplished outdoorsman, he spent countless hours fishing and hunting across Canada, embracing the peace and simplicity of nature.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Now at peace, forever gone fishing As per Harvey’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
