READ, Brenda Patricia Read

It is with deep sorrow and immense gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we share the peaceful passing of Brenda Read in her 76th year, at Sakura House Hospice on March 1, 2026.  Born and raised in Paris, Ontario, Brenda settled and lived in Canning for over 40 years, raising two boys with her late husband, Frank and appreciating her final years with her partner, Barry. Her life was defined by the unconditional love she poured into her children and grandchildren. She also always extended her warmth and love to her son’s friends, making them feel like a true part of the family. Being a mother and “Nana” was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

She is survived by her sons, Justin (Ashley) and Michael (Cindy); her cherished grandchildren, Ryersyn, Campbell, Gallagher, Carter, Zachary, and Brooks; and her fiercely devoted partner, Barry Buchwald. Brenda was the daughter of the late Mary and Kenneth Tune, and daughter-in-law of the late Justin and Jean Read. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Marg (Bob) and Larry (Donna), and a large extended family. She is reunited with her late husband, Frank (2019), and “daughter-in-love,” Jolene (2020). Brenda’s generous spirit shone through her years of volunteering at Stedman Hospice and lifelong commitment to the Paris Baptist Church. As the activity coordinator at Versa Care, she took immense pride in being at the helm of the bus, leading the way on adventures and making every outing feel special for the residents. She showed remarkable grace, quiet power and unwavering optimism in her battle with cancer. Though her absence is deeply felt, the lessons she taught about selflessness and perseverance will live on forever.

Friends will be welcomed at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris, Ontario, on Wednesday March 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will be in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday March 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sakura House Hospice or Paris Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
