REDDOCH , Betty Reddoch
April 5, 1930 - August 20, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Phoebe Elizabeth “Betty” Reddoch, who died peacefully at Strathroy Hospital on August 20, 2025, at the age of 95.
Beloved mother of Lynne Reddoch, Bob Reddoch (Stephanie), Karen Welch (Tim), and David Reddoch (Karen Millard).
Betty was a proud and loving grandmother to Pamela Visser, Branden Visser (Lori Lee), Jesse Welch, and Michael Welch, and a cherished great-grandmother to Theodore Lee Visser and Henry Lee Visser.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Elsie Billyard of Welland and siblings Richard, Bob, Alex, Elsie, Ethel, Jack and Jim. She is survived by her dear sisters-in-law, Judy Billyard and Doreen Billyard and many lovely nieces and nephews. She deeply loved all of her family.
Betty was born in Welland, Ontario but lived in Strathroy for over 65 years working, raising her family and cultivating lifelong friendships. As a member of the Strathroy Golf and Country Club she shared her passion for golf and curling. She volunteered at the Hospital Auxiliary gift shop and, in her retirement, at the Java Hut. She worked for 15 years in administration in the tax department at the Town Hall, equally enjoying serving the community and working with her colleagues.
Mom loved a good card game. She played social and competitive contract and duplicate bridge, could be found at the casino winning at blackjack and she never missed bingo if she could help it. She and her Friday night ladies group enjoyed years of D&D (dinner and dominoes).
Betty had an immeasurable “joie de vivre”, a quick smile and an infectious laugh that endeared her to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Denning’s of Strathroy (32 Metcalfe Street, Strathroy, Ontario) at 1:00pm with a service of remembrance to be held at 2:00 pm with luncheon to follow.
Our family would especially like to extend our warmest thanks to all the wonderful, caring staff at both the Seasons Retirement Community and at the Strathroy Middle General Hospital, 1 South.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Strathroy Middle General Hospital or a charity of your choice.
Betty’s care has been entrusted to DENNING’S of Strathroy.
