Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on April 23rd, 2025.
Beloved husband and best friend of Cathy for 50 wonderful years. Loving father of Larry, Bonnie, Beverly, Terry, Ernie Jr., and Amanda, and proud father-in-law to their spouses. Cherished papa of Tommy, Chad, Adam, Joshua, Tamarai, Kristen, Sydney, Isabella, Sarah, Sophia, Hannah, and Elizabeth. Adored great-grandpapa to Dylan, Bentley, Ella, Lily, and Cooper. Sadly missed by his loving companion βLadyβ.
Ernie will be deeply missed by his dear brother Donny Reid and lovingly remembered by countless family and friends. He is predeceased by his siblings George, Martha, Llewelyn, Edward, Albert, Herbert, Irene, Sidney, and Winnie.
A proud retiree of General Motors after 34 and a half years of dedicated service, Ernie lived life with warmth, laughter, and love. He enjoyed reading, watching hockey and baseball, and listening to country music. Ernie found joy in cooking, singing to his grandchildren, and spending special moments with his family. His sense of humor, tender heart, and optimistic spirit touched everyone he met.
Ernie loved the outdoors, traveling, spending time with family, and doing a newfie jig whenever he could. Social by nature, he never missed a chance to strike up a conversation or enjoy a good party. His vibrant spirit and kind soul will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
βYour life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.β
