RICE, Brian Roy Rice
May 25, 1958 - January 17, 2026
With heavy hearts, the family of Brian Rice would like to share the news of his sudden passing on January 17th. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Debbie, his 4 children – Karissa (Richard) Teskey, Jestin (Meagan) Rice, Jillian (Jordan) Butler, Joshua Rice (Jennifer Muller), and grandchildren Marley and Haddie. His parents Joan and Woodrow Rice, along with his siblings Derick (and Joyce) Rice, and Kathy (and Ladd) Ryan, also mourn his loss from his beloved hometown in Newfoundland. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews as well. Brian worked at Nova Chemicals as a process operator for 22 years before retiring in 2018. He was a nature enthusiast and found peace in his daily walks throughout Petrolia. He had a deep faith and relationship with God and enjoyed long, in depth chats about The Bible and theology with those around him. He cherished any time he was able to spend with his family, and in turn they reflect on how grateful they are for the kind, supportive and loving man he was. He was a talented artist who fondly remembered his Newfoundland heritage in his landscape paintings. Although he lived in Ontario for the majority of his life, he was always a proud Newfie. He looked forward to his annual visits to his hometown in Pilley’s Island and the time he would spend with the dear family and friends there. Cremation has taken place and the family has decided not to hold a funeral service. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Brian was a proud Dad, always an encourager and supporter of his kids, and was passionate about the things they were passionate about. In maintaining that mindset, sympathy may be expressed through donations to one of the following charities which were important to his family: Youth For Christ Sarnia Lambton Branch, The Sarnia Humane Society or Sarnia Lambton Rebound – The NEST (cheques only when donating at the funeral home please).
