It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Rita Irene Richer on June 13, 2025, in Espanola. Rita was a woman of great faith who spent her days studying and sharing God’s word with anyone who would listen.

Dear daughter of Lydia Leclair. Beloved wife of the late Yvon Richer (Dew) (1999). She leaves behind her daughter Joanne and son-in-law Jim Clement. A loving Gramma to Micheal Bousquet (Miranda), Melissa Butula (Randy), and Ryan Clement (Lee Ann), and the best Great-Gramma to Brooklynn, Mathis, Ashton, Riley, Emma, and Jake.

Rita was a dear sister to Clarence (Gail), Julie (Bob), Ruth Ann (Mike), Jane (Rick), and predeceased siblings Claude (Lorna), Rueben (Marilyn), Betty (Richard), and Don. She will be missed by all her nieces, nephews, cousins, her dear sister-in-law Belle, and her best friend of 80 years, Shirley.

Rita treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She had a vivacious personality, a great sense of humour, and a warm, generous heart. She made friends easily and was known for her kindness and infectious smile.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements will be made at a later date. The family thanks Andrew Bourcier for his help and guidance.
