RIEDKE, Benita Riedke

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on July 1, 2025, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Adolf Riedke (1991). Loving mother of Anita (late Donald Schieve and Michael Byard), Art (Helen), and Robert.

Cherished Oma of Aaron, Amanda, Adele (David Hawes), Jake, Meagan, Michael, and proud great-Oma of Juliette and Rebecca. Survived by her brother Ron Pekrul (Jill), and remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to family friend and neighbour Bea, and to the compassionate staff at Welland Hospital. Benita was a devoted lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

The family will receive friends at the Armstrong Funeral Home & Chapel, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 688 Elm Street, Port Colborne. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
