EDELSTEIN, Rita Edelstein

EDELSTEIN, Rita  –  On Saturday, February 24, 2024, peacefully at her residence, at the age of 92.

Beloved and much-loved wife of the late Leo Edelstein. Loving mother of Lisa, and of the late Brian and Joy.

Born to the late Max and Gertie Shore, she was devoted daughter and dear sister to the late Sylvia Seligman and Ann Samuels. We are grateful for the devotion of her caregivers, Sandy Ferreira and Winsome Cole, who took such good care of her these past years.

Rita was a strong presence in her family. Her nieces and nephews remember her as a ‘spunky’ lady. Rita was interested in those around her and in the events of the world that surrounded her. Rita was a ‘fashionista’ before the term was in vogue.

She loved designer clothes and always wanted to look her best as she met and involved herself with relatives and friends who will all miss her.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Dawes Road Cemetery, 3169 St. Clair Avenue East.
