Cherished mother of the late Patricia Ann (Roath) and late Marcel Brasseur; Mary Jean Roath; John (Cathy) Roath. Dear sister of Carol (Ducharme) and John Vandermolen. To be reunited with parents Joseph and Edna Ducharme; sister Beatrice (Harvey) Spitzer; and brothers John Ducharme and Ray (Grace) Ducharme.
Grandmother to Karen (Brasseur) Karl Desjardins; Kim (Brewer) Phil Brunelle; Krissy (Brewer) Armand Malette; Adam Roath and Christopher Roath. Great grandmother to Quentin and Karson Desjardins and Nathan Malette. Also survived by many nieces.
Mom was a farm girl at heart who was born in Detroit, Michigan then moved to a farm near Grand Bend at an early age where she developed her lifelong never-give-up character. She then moved to Windsor where she married, raised 3 children and remained in the same house for over 70 years. She retired from the law firm Jaffe, Snider, Rait and Heuer then enjoyed many years traveling extensively with her close companion Gerry Lefaive.
Always ready for a challenge, she enjoyed baking and quilting. Christmas Eve was always a special time where she made gifts of homemade quilts, pies and zucchini bread. Her zest for life was always present and she always lived life her way. Now Mom has returned to the farm to reunite with loved ones and friends who miss her. She will be missed but not forgotten.
The family would like to thank the staff of Seasons LaSalle (memory care) who went over and above to provide a loving environment, allowing Mom to live life to her fullest through her final challenges. Also, the staff on the 7th floor of Met Hospital for their true compassion.
