ROBERTS, Gary Roberts

Peacefully with family by his side at Owen Sound Hospital on Sunday, February 22, 2026.  Gary Roberts of Sauble Beach in his 82nd year.  Beloved husband of Edie for 56 years.  Cherished father of Drew (Val) of Baden.  Much loved grandfather of Liam and Lennon.  Dear brother-in-law of Joan MacDonald (Archie) of Ottawa, James McDonald of Cargill and Shirley McDonald of Terra Cotta.  Missed by nieces Wendy and Heather and nephew John, as well as one grand-niece and several grand-nephews. Predeceased by his parents Adeline (nee Cameron) and Norman Roberts, sister Francis and brother-in-law Douglas McDonald.

Gary’s first love was Driftwood Bay at Redstone Lake where he spent many hours hunting and fishing.  He lived a very active lifestyle enjoying golfing, curling and hockey in his early years.  He was also so very proud of his career as an agronomist which he described as rewarding as it allowed him to help farmers.

Family and friends are invited to share memories at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.  Expressions of remembrance to the Canadian Cancer Society, Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital Foundation, Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.downsandsonfuneralhome.com
