THOMPSON, Ronald Edward – (1924 – 2015)   –  It is with great sadness we announce Ron passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2015, with his loving wife June of 67 years at his side.

He was the cherished father of Norm, deceased (Fran); Anne Campbell; Susan Wensley (Richard); and son-in-law Paul.

Beloved grandfather of Tara (Jay); Alan (Candy-Lynn); Ian (Jodie); Scott (Kristle); and great-grandfather of Landen and Lincoln. He was born in Midland, ON, son of the late Frank and Beatrice Thompson; dear brother of the late Ken Thompson (Pam). Ron was a Flying Officer in the RCAF during WWII.

He was kind and loving and had a positive outlook on life and people. All that was good in Ron will live on in his family and friends.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street, Oakville, on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

The family gives thanks to services provided by CCAC, Veterans Affairs Canada and a special thanks to Dr. Glenn Surbey for his many years of care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Ron’s favourite charity, Evangel Hall Toronto, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
