KNIGHT, Ronald Thomas  –

January 9, 1932 – August 6, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald, aka Ronald T, in Toronto.

Born in London, England, Ron’s insurance career took him from London to Montreal, Calgary and then finally to Toronto where he raised his family.

Often referred to as a fine English gentleman by his friends and appreciated by those who loved him for his quick wit, caring ear, tall tales, enduring patience and heart of gold. Ron had a great love for English football (go Chelsea!), thoroughbred horse racing, murder mystery novels, crosswords, travel, and good food.

His greatest love was his doting wife of 60 years, Diane, and his three children, Adam (Hilary), Olivia (Julian) and Diana, along with his grandchildren, Pearce, Phoebe, Tyler, Dylan, Nyla, Hudson and little Eden. Predeceased by his father Thomas, his mother Ellen and his brother Alan.

Ron had many friends in Canada, the United States and in England that he always kept in touch with at every opportunity. He spent his final two years at Chester Village in the care of Dr. S. Matthews and the dedicated staff. Our family would like to thank each person who cared for Ron for their love and support.

He certainly lived life to the fullest, loved fiercely and was loved deeply.

He would want us all to do the same, so let’s all raise a glass to our beloved Ronald T for a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciate.
