Gordon Paterson Rose, 67, of Oshawa Ontario, passed away on Sunday August 3rd 2025.

He was born on November 8th, 1957 to John and Christina Rose in Glasgow Scotland, and moved to Canada with his parents and siblings as an adolescent. A true journeyman, he worked as a glazier for the family owned Oshawa Glass and Mirror, became a Red-Seal Auto Mechanic, worked in various shops throughout the years, including operating his own for a time.

He married Denise Rose (née Hutcheson) on September 15th, 1984 and together they welcomed 3 children. Gordon is survived by his wife Denise, children Ashley, Rachel (Mike), and Sean (Nicki), grandchildren Logan, Braydan, and Layla, his mother Christina, siblings John (Judy), Christine (Darrell), Garry (Sandy) and Steven (Jan), and his many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father John Rose. Gordon would be described professionally as serious, intelligent, and reserved. Those who called him “Gord” or Dad, knew he was so much more. Relentlessly curious, protective, caring, witty, humorous, stubborn and deceivingly full of laughter and love. The following are some words written by his daughter Ashley, comprised from the thoughts and sentiments she and her siblings Rachel and Sean wish to share:

Lived his whole life, constant and true.

Fiercely loyal, real safety within his arms.

Behind the daunting mask that hid;

His genuine smile and unexpected charm.

Dad passed away Sunday evening.

His kids and his wife at his side.

Whisked away to the country,

where he got to nap outside

in a cool breeze, listen to the birds,

sleep with the window open wide,

finally get some quiet, and

Peace.
