ROUSSEL, Eileen Roussel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Eileen Roussel, who was called home by her Lord and Savior on the morning of December 29th, 2025 as she suffered a massive heart attack.
Cherished Family
Eileen will be lovingly remembered as the beloved wife of Bernard Roussel. She was the proud mother of Stephen and Michelle and a devoted grandmother to Darnell Roussel, as well as step-granddaughter Elizabeth De La Cruz (Jarred). Among her many joys in life, Eileen especially treasured her newest role as Great Grandma to baby Isabella.
Family Roots and Cherished Relationships
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Eileen was the beloved daughter of Rose Lena (Ward) Savage and Douglas Armour Savage, both of whom have passed away. She was a devoted sister to Anne Armstrong (deceased), George; Thomas Savage (Isabel); and Rose Mary Morris (Ronnie).
Eileen was also a wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews: George Jr. (Christine), Carol Armstrong (Howard), Thomas Savage Jr. (Bernadette), Jacqueline, Ronnie Morris Jr. (Eva), Scott Morris (Jill), Roslynne Morris, and Oliver Bailleul. She held a special place as “Great Auntie” to their children, sharing her warmth and affection with the next generation as well.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her lifelong dear sister/friend, Irene Henry (Alan),and their family, as well as her dear friend Evelyn Thorpe (Paul, deceased). During her time in Brampton, Eileen was an active and proud member of the Kennedy Road Tabernacle, where she formed many close friendships, including with Pastor Bruce Martin, his wife Miriam, and their family. The bonds she created with her friends and extended family were a testament to her carding and nurturing spirit, and these relationships remained a central part of her life.
Retirement
Upon embracing their official retirement, Eileen and Bernard made the move to Fort Erie, choosing to settle in the welcoming community of Stevensville. Eileen was deeply appreciative of the supportive neighbourhood they became part of, often expressing gratitude for being surrounded by such wonderful neighbours.
The transition also brough them a sense of spiritual fulfillment as they found a new church home at Central Community Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Under the guidance of Pastor Bill Markham and with the warmth of the congregation, Eileen and Bernard experienced a renewed sense of fellowship and belonging.
A dedicated volunteer, Eileen committed 20+hours per week for her work for the Hospice of Peel giving 20 years of highly praised service to those in need. Compassionate, Kind & Respectful, the people in her care adored her as she did them.
Eileen will be sadly missed by many friends and relatives here in Canada, in the U.S.A. & In Scotland. She also treasured the time shared with Bernards French Family whether in France or when they came over to visit here in Canada.
In lieu of flowers, Eileen & Family would appreciate it if you would consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Visitation will commence on Friday January 2, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00. P.M. A service will be held on January 3rd, 2026 at 1:00 PM at The Williams Funeral Services Chapel.
