ROY, Daniel Murray Roy
October 3, 1951 - February 7, 2026It is with profound sadness we, the family of Daniel (Danny) Roy, announce his sudden passing due to a devastating fall on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Danny was a dedicated employee of General Motors for over 25 years. He loved to fish and exercise, played the bagpipes, baked like a gourmet chef, was curious, creative and always learning.
Danny was a true Jack of all trades. He had many interests and those who knew him best would say he was a genius. Anything he attempted would be done precisely, resulting in perfection, but nothing more so than loving his wife, Margaret and their two children, Mark (Sarah) and Jim (Julie). Danny embraced marriage and fatherhood wholeheartedly and made a lasting difference in all their lives.
It was a joy to watch Danny become a grandfather to Brady, Owen, Andrew and Cameron. He built them toys and a treehouse but most of all helped build their character showing them love, respect and dedication. Like a good grandfather, he had silver in his hair and gold in his heart.
Danny was a loving and devoted son to Helen. The eldest of four siblings, he was the only brother to his three sisters, Brenda, Heather and Jennifer (Dave). He was far more than just a big brother, however. To his youngest sister, Jennifer, he was a father-figure, confidant, and guiding force.
“He taught me what love can and should look like, to live on my terms and to follow my dreams.” ~Jennifer Roy-Robb
Those lessons live on in all of his siblings and thus, his niece and nephews, Michael, Julie, Wade, Mackenzie, Sloan, and Xander.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
“Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountainside,
The summer’s gone, and all the roses falling,
It’s you, it’s you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow,
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow,
I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh, Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, I love you so!”
