ROY, Dr. William “Bill” Andrew Roy

It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. William “Bill” Andrew Roy,
who passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, in his
81st year. Bill was the devoted husband of Ruth (née Lepkey), and a proud and loving
father of Angela Miller (Whitney), Matthew Roy (Angelica Noël), Ian Roy (Carley), the late
Patrick Roy, and the late Kyle Roy (Eva Potashnyk). He was a cherished grandfather of
Harley “Elise” and Zachary Miller, and a dear brother of Jim Roy and the late Evelyn Polson.
For 52 years, Bill dedicated his life to serving the Durham Region community as a family
physician. He was deeply committed to his patients, often going above and beyond to
provide compassionate care. Known for his steady presence, sharp mind, and unwavering
dedication, he touched countless lives throughout his decades of service.
Bill’s life was centered on family. He treasured time spent with Ruth, his children, and
grandchildren, and he found joy in the simple moments of togetherness. His quiet strength
and devotion to others will remain an inspiration to all who knew him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hillsdale Estates (Moonlight Bay) for

their exceptional care and compassion during his final days.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERALHOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). A visitation will be held at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson Canada
