It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Emile Legarie announces his passing on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, ON with family and friends by his side.

Roy was born on December 1, 1926 in Virginia, Minnesota to Alcide and Marian Legarie.

He served in the Canadian Army and upon his return started working for the local paper mill in Fort Frances.

He was united in marriage to Jean Schram on June 2, 1950.

He leaves behind his wife Jean; children Wayne Legarie, Arlye and husband Robert Taylor and Tim Legarie and wife Cheryl; daughter-in-law Jamie Legarie; grandchildren Cindy, Michelle, Gordon, Jeremy, Jessica, Heather, Sarah, Destin, Brandon, R.J. and Keith; great grandchildren Casey, Ashley, Zachary, Alexandra, Ayres, Arley and Jessie; sisters Gladys Mattowskie and Madeline and husband Ken Martin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by his parents; son Gordon; brothers Leonard, Don, Francis and Jerry and sisters Ann Sanders and Nora May Legarie.

Funeral services will be held in Fort Francis, on Monday, January 4th.

Burial will take place in Fort Frances, Ontario.
