Lois passed away peacefully with her daughter, Susan by her side at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Friday April 18, 2025 at the age of 91 years.
Predeceased in 1974 by her beloved husband, Roy Russell, and will be loved and remembered by her children, Stephen (Shairn), Susan (Rick), Mark, and younger brother, Ron Coons.

Born on March 10, 1934, to parents Vera (née Logee) and Norman Coons. In 1955, she married the love of her life, but sadly, after 18 years, it ended with the premature death of her husband.
At age 40, Lois became a widow with three children to care for, and her devotion to her children was unwavering to her last breath.

Lois worked as a bank teller for CIBC during the pre-tech years, which involved precise mathematical skills.
Her most memorable experience in the bank was personally serving the legendary actor, Omar Sharif, who told her, “you have the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen”!

Lois was one classy lady, taking great pride in her appearance, loving to cook, bake, read, decorate, and having long discussions about British history and current events with her children.
She was a woman of great warmth and strength, feisty, fiercely independent, had a wicked sense of humour, and lit up a room with her presence.

A private family graveside service will take place at Uxbridge Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice or to the Ontario SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
