70 years, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Erie Shores Healthcare. Longtime companion of Mary Mastronardi. Dear father of Dr. Kristy Morgan (Thomas), Ryan Rutgers (Lianne), and Bobby Rutgers. Loving Papa of Will, Jordyn, Christian, Jack, Alexander, and Cohen. Dear brother of the late Willy Rutgers. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Johanna Rutgers. J.R was District Chief with Windsor Es County EMS with his career spanning over 40 years helping others. He was a past member of the Erie Shores Golf Club and loved riding his Motorcycle and taking his grandkids for rides in his Camaro. He was our “Cool Papa” and will be deeply missed. Memorial Visiting at Reid Funeral Home on Thursday 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service to celebrate John’s life at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11 a.m.
