SANITA, Dominic Michael Sanita

Dominic Michael Sanita was born on August 6, 1946, in Scifelli, Frosinone, Italy, to Maria (2003) and Francesco (1978) Sanita. In 1953, Dominic immigrated to Canada with his parents and three sisters, beginning a new chapter rooted in hard work, family, and opportunity.

A dedicated tradesman, Dominic built a life through honest work, from building homes to plumbing; always providing for those he loved. He settled in Highland Creek with beloved wife Julie (2015), where they raised their three sons, Ryan, Michael, and Joseph.

Later in life, Dominic made his home in Orono, Ontario, where he spent his final 15 years and shared the last decade with his partner, Putsadee.

Dom was a man of strong values and unwavering work ethic – the foundation of his family. He found joy in fishing and hunting, cherished time with his grandchildren, and treasured moments spent with family around the table. A good espresso, a glass of red wine, and a shared meal were among his simple pleasures.

Dominic will be remembered for his strength, deep love for his family, and the life he built with his hands and heart.

He will be dearly missed and forever loved by sons Ryan (Sofia), Michael, Joseph (Christina), grandchildren, Luca, Matteo, Zoey and Summer. Also remembered by sisters Giovanna (Luigi, 2020), Amelia (1998, Ilio, 2022), Christine (Sonny, 2015).

Friends and family are invited for a visitation at NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME (386 Mill St. S. Newcastle) on Friday January 9th, 2026 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Funeral will take place at St. Joseph’s Parrish (200 Morrish Rd, Scarborough, ON M1C 1E8) on Saturday January 10th, 2026 at 12:00 noon.
