SARGEANT, Ronald Douglas Sargeant

Passed away peacefully at Markham-Stouffville Hospital on Tuesday December 2, 2025 at the age of 81 years. Loved and missed by his children Anita Sargeant (Craig Lill), Shawn Sargeant (Karen) and Krista Nagy (Sean) and their mother Lynda. Also remembered by his brothers John (Louise), Phil (Helen) and Tim. He was predeceased by his parents Reverend Dow and Mae Sargeant.

Ron started working at a young age on a farm owned by Robert Lewis in Altona. This instilled a strong work ethic in him that he carried through to Betz Pools. It was here that he played an integral role in the construction phase of the gunite pool shell. Later to be known as “the master gunner”or simply “Sarge”.

Upon his retirement, his hard work ethic and sense of community did not cease. Ron occupied his time by cutting grass and removing snow for his neighbours. The rest of his time was enjoyed with his family, watching his favourite Toronto sports team (Leafs, Jays or Raptors), watching the birds at his bird feeder in the backyard, fishing or driving the Rumblebee down to Timmies to chat it up with the boys.

For those that knew him he was one of the nicest and hardest working men they knew. He worked hard and loved his family even harder. He will be missed dearly.

Private family services have been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge Chapel. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, would be appreciated by the family.
