Passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Bruclea Haven, Walkerton, in his 73rd year. Beloved father of Jeannie of Port Elgin. Elmer will be dearly missed by his siblings Cathy (J.D.) Elphick of Pinkerton, Alan (Judy) Schmidt of Cargill, Theresea (Steve) Eckenswiller of Walkerton, Mary-Lou Neil of Pinkerton, brother-in-law of Eleanor Huffman of Chesley, Iris Smith of Mount Forest, Milton (Arlene) Turner of Whitechurch, Jim Thompson of Burgoyne, Hugh (Marion) Turner of Guelph, Leonard Ferrier of Gravenhurst, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Vicky (nee Turner), brothers-in-law Charlie Neil, Walter (Gwen) Turner, Fred Smith, sisters-in-law Gail Ferrier, Lynne Thompson, and his parents Bill and Helen (nee Zettler) Schmidt.
Friends and relatives are invited to visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Cameron’s in Walkerton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Mary Immaculate Church, Chepstow. Reception to follow at the Chepstow Lion’s Park Hall.
