SCHURINK, Catherine Schurink

passed away peacefully August 30 at home with her partner George VanEvery, sister Mary Taylor, and good friend Janice Tiessen at her side. Cathy is survived by her daughter Rebecca Schurink and her two grandchildren Luke and Victoria. Predeceased by her Mother Mae Brotherton, Father Robert Brotherton, and Brother John Brotherton. Cathy will be lovingly remembered and truly missed by her family and friends. Born in Woodstock, Ontario, Cathy worked with Bell Canada for 35 years. Cathy had a lifelong love of animals, beginning with her first horse, Chico, when she was 17 with many to follow through the years. She also had a passion for dogs, she had various breeds until she got a German Shepard in 1975 and never looked back. Cathy loved to travel, she has been to Churchill to see the Polar Bears with George. Trips to the United States from coast to coast. Also to the  Caribbean with her sister. Paris, Versaille, Barcelona, Alaska, and her favourite trip to the Rockies with Janice and Mary to ride horses up into the mountains for a week. Following Cathy’s wishes no funeral will be held. Funeral Services completed and entrusted to Styres Funeral Home.
