SCOTT, Joe Scott

With his children by his side, James Melvin (Joe) Scott passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Bluewater Health, at the age of 78.

Joe will be deeply missed by his children, Walter Scott and Maryellen Brown. He was a proud “Papa Joe” to Sabrina (Corey) Cote, Campbell Brown (Dawson), Kaeden (2009), and Jaymie Scott. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Elizabeth and Liliana Cote.

Joe was predeceased by his beloved parents, James Russell “Dan” Scott (1975) and Helen Christine Scott (née Hall) (2004), and by his grandson Kaeden in 2009.

He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Emily, Anne, Louise, and Norman, as well as by his many nieces and nephews. Joe’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, including his dear friends at Orchard View Apartments, where he found a strong sense of community and companionship.

Joe’s legacy lives on in the love he gave and the memories he created with those closest to him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kaeden Brown Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Thedford on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1pm.
