SEBASTIAN, Maria Sebastian

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Sebastian, who entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2026, at Wellbrook Place in Mississauga, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Maria was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is now reunited with her beloved parents, Lazarus and Annie Sebastian, and her cherished siblings Cecilia (Francis) Zuzarte, Saverin (Lawrence) Micheal, Francis Sebastian, Philip Sebastian, Margaret Menezes, and her loving nephew Xavier Zuzarte.

Maria leaves behind her dear brother Eddie Sebastian, as well as six nieces and nephews and their spouses, nine grandkids and their spouses, four great‑grandchildren, and her two adored dogs, Milo and Harper, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Maria was known for her gentle spirit, love of family gatherings, and her gifts as both a reader and a writer—especially her passion for poetry. Her lifelong career as a child psychologist was one of her greatest callings; she cared profoundly for the children and families she supported. Maria was also incredibly proud to see two of her siblings, two nieces and a nephew follow a path into the education field, carrying forward her commitment to helping young people thrive.

Maria will be remembered for her compassion, her wisdom, her creativity, and the unwavering love she gave so freely. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Parish
1290 McBride Ave, Mississauga
on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

A private burial will follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery.

Following Mass, all are welcome to join the family in the church hall reception, where they will gather with you again after the burial to share memories, comfort, and community.
