PEDREIRA, Secundino Pedreira

PEDREIRA, Secundino –   With heavy hearts, we regret to inform you that Secundino (“Dino”) Pedreira passed away peacefully at Etobicoke General Hospital on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the age of 74.

He was the dearly beloved husband of Maria do Céu, the loving father of Nelson (Tannia) and Diane and the cherished grandfather of Dimitri, Michael, and Alexander.  

Dino was born on September 19, 1948, in Monção, Portugal, the son of José & Adelina Pedreira.

He spent his childhood with his siblings Manuel, Maria Júlia, Maria Conceição and Maria Angélica. 

In pursuit of a better life and to provide for his family, Dino emigrated to France at the age of 15, along with his brother Manuel.

After 12 years, he then followed his sweetheart to Canada, and they exchanged vows in the spring of 1975. 

As a devout Catholic, he actively participated in his faith, taking part in many pilgrimages worldwide.  Dino was driven and hardworking, but he also had an enormous heart of gold, never hesitating to help a friend or neighbour.

He loved his family deeply, and we find comfort in knowing that Dino is now at peace with God. 

The visitation will be held at Newediuk Funeral Home, located at 2058 Kipling Avenue, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, 45 Ludstone Drive, on Wednesday June 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., followed by his entombment.
