SHANAHAN, Marie Lynn Shanahan Obituary

SHANAHAN, Marie Lynn – Passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Thomas Shanahan for almost 42 years. Predeceased by her eldest son Allan Shanahan (died May 16th, 2011) and survived by her children; Andrew Shanahan, Cynthia Shanahan and Aundria LeClaire (née Shanahan). Marie is also survived by her sister, Pamela McKenzie and 2 brothers Lenard Perry and William ‘Bill’ Perry.

Beloved Meme to her grandchildren; Demetrius, Madison, Lilo, Makenzi, Rylie, Rori and Landon Marie also had a group of extended family whom she loved as her own; Teena Rossingol and her children, Felyssia Larocque, Ashley Larocque, Nykolas Larocque, and nephew Patrique Rossingol who were there with her all throughout her illness till her final days.

Special thanks to Teena Rossingol who also served as her in-home caregiver until the end. Also a great big thank you to the staff at Windsor Regional-Met campus and notably the staff in ICU for their excellent care! Marie loved her family very much and was a strong believer in Jesus Christ.

The family also wishes to thank Pastor Ezra at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Restoration House for all that he did for Marie – especially in her final months.

Marie loved gardening and the sound of wind chimes. Wherever she was in her home and garden there was sure to be the sound of chimes blowing in the breeze. She was also very fond of bells and various porcelain collectibles. She loved flowers of all kinds especially lilacs and carnations. There was seldom a lilac tree she would pass without picking a flower from it to place somewhere in her house for the lovely scent. Her good humour and gentle smile will be missed by all those that knew her.

Visitation will be held at The Redeemed Christian Church of God Restoration House, 1493 Langlois Avenue in Windsor, Ontario on Saturday, October 10th from 9:30-12:00 with a service to follow from 12-1 then a procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery where the final goodbyes will take place before cremation.

If you so desire, donations may be made to the church.
