SHAW, Olive Marian Shaw

Peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, Olive “Marian” Shaw, age 92, passed away at Bluewater Health. Beloved wife of the late Carl Shaw (2005). Loving mother of Sally (Rob Fennell), Andrew (Theresa Dizon), Allan (Susan), and the late Cindy Lou (1960). Cherished grandmother of Desdemona (Eva Henderson), Noah (Abby Libbus), Aliyah, Matteo, James, and Catherine. Dear sister of Mike (Valerie) Griffith. Predeceased by her parents Earl and Laura Griffith, stepmother Gladys Griffith, sister Helen (Merv) Rooke, and brother Eldon (Nancy) Griffith. Marian was a dedicated teacher with a decades-long career that spanned teaching in a one-room schoolhouse at age 18 to teaching math at Lambton College. She was also a faithful member of Grace United Church and the University Women’s Club, a thoughtful hostess, a loyal neighbour and friend, a caring parent and grandmother, a lover of music, Bridge, baking butter tarts, and homemade jokes. She will be very much missed. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. A service of thanksgiving for her life will be held at Grace United Church, 990 Cathcart Blvd, Sarnia, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. (https://www.youtube.com/c/graceucsarnia/live) Reception to follow. Interment to take place at 1:45 p.m. in Dresden Cemetery.
