THOMSON, Sheila Grace Thomson – Obituary

 

THOMSON, Sheila Grace –   Daughter of Judge Cecil and Grace Facer, wife of Dr. Alistair Thomson (deceased), passed away gracefully and peacefully in her sleep at age 79 in her home in Caledon.

Sheila inspired many with her charm, elegance and strength.

She spent her life fundraising and organizing charitable events such as Polo for Heart and the Black and White Polo Ball for the benefit of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Locally, she worked tirelessly for Headwaters Hospital Silent Auctions, Bethell Hospice Foundation and was a champion of the Greenbelt’s wetlands and wildlife.

Sheila was a passionate gardener deeply involved in the Garden Club of Toronto, Credit Forks Garden Club and the Toronto Herb Society.

She was also an accomplished cook who loved to entertain and many will remember her wonderful dinner parties. Sheila is survived by her partner Robert Sillcox, children Kimberly (Gord), Tara (Chris), Brian (Sabine) and Liza (Levi) and her grandchildren Dylan, Riva, Shane, Holden, Somerset, Leonardo and Saphira.

A service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church in King City October 20th at 1 p.m. Following the service a Celebration of her Life will commence at Hogan’s Inn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Bethell Hospice Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division..
