SHEPLEY, Audrey Irene Shepley

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Audrey Irene Shepley, surrounded by family and friends, on June 14th, 2025, in her 95th year. Loving mom to Christine Wendels, Derek (Kienitz), Nancy Shepley, David Shepley, and Debbie (David) Clark. Dear Grandma to Justin Shepley, the late Devon Shepley, and Nicole Clark. She will be greatly missed by her very close friends Joan Aarts, Margaret Adams, and Nancy Adams. Audrey will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Audrey was self-taught and had a dairy farm for most of her life. She had a big heart and would always put others before herself. She was proud of her age and independence, was sharp witted and loved her family and grandchildren, who were all very important to her. She was quite gifted, with strong values while wearing many hats, and would faithfully keep her children active in various activities. Audrey often took the opportunity to turn anything into a teachable moment with her children.

She had a feisty, spunky personality, was a loving person, loyal, hardworking, caring, compassionate and extremely organized. She loved life, attended the YMCA, followed by her favourite breakfast at Roy’s with friends, and attended the VON adult day program. Audrey’s light shone bright, lighting up every room, along with everyone in it, everywhere she went.

She will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know her.

A heartfelt thank you to the family and friends who surrounded Audrey at the time of her death, until her very last heartbeat. Thank you also to the doctors and nurses that took great care of Audrey at Strathroy Middle General Hospital and the staff at Paramed. Your support is very much appreciated.

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, “Come to me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
As you slowly slipped away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Cremation has taken place. An interment will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, located at 2001 Dundas St, London, ON N5V 1P6, at 12 pm.
