SHEREMETO, David

The world grew a bit quieter on September 29, 2025, when David Sheremeto ( known as crazy Dave) put down his tools, parked the Harley, and took his final ride at the age of 56.

He leaves behind a small army of loved ones who are still shaking their heads in disbelief. His children, Keesha, Kianna with fiancé Tristan and their son Draven (who has inherited the famous Sheremeto grin), Chris with Siobhan, Kaylee, Jolina,  along with his Dad David Sr., and his siblings, Daniel,  wife Brandi, his niece Charlee, Joanne, brother Bob, Sheri, his nephew Sean, and sister Tina. With many aunts and uncles and cousins alongside his hometown family of The Hockman’s Bill, Robert, and Val; and the Trouts.  Fur companions Jackass the cat, Bentley, & Tiko, his dogs, who are at this very moment wondering who is going to spoil them next.

David was predeceased by his mother, Valerie, his Bubs; Ernest, Nana; Mona Ridgewell, his Grandpa Harry, Grandma Lena Sheremeto, his stepmom Elaine Shoop, and his beloved Izzy, who one suspects greeted him with a smirk, “What took you so long?”

To describe David is to attempt the impossible.  He was funny, loud, and cheerfully unfiltered – a man who could predict the future (and more than occasionally got it right).  His smile could always turn a bad day around, and his language (colourful as it was) could paint entire stories in a single sentence.

He loved his Harley-Davidson, believed good weed improved any conversation, and made a point of checking in on people whenever he got the chance. Friends across Canada will miss the man with whom they would share their troubles  – while he would pour them a paralyzer before offering  (unasked for but usually sound) advice on any GMC, Chevy, or Duramax or Milwaukee tools, plenty of camping tips with stories, and most definitely the optimal treats to divulge in, please don’t forget the Reese’s Pieces.

In honour of Dave, light one up, raise your glass, and toast the man who lived exactly as he pleased.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm (PST), in his hometown of Fauquier, BC – across the Needles ferry at the community hall for his final resting place with his mom in the Fauquier Cemetery.
