YOUNG, Sherry Lee Young

December 10, 1959 - January 16, 2026

Our beloved mom, Sherry Young (née O’Handley), 66, of Cambridge, passed away suddenly on January 16, 2026. Born in Cambridge on December 10, 1959. Surrounded by love, she leaves behind a legacy defined by her devotion, her laughter, and the unwavering support she gave to everyone she held dear.

Predeceased by her husband, Gordon Squires and her parents Marian (June) & Russell O’Handley. Beloved Mother of Amy Young, Amber Langille (Kyle); cherished Granny of Charlie & Sophia, dear sister to Brian O’Handley (Judy) & Russ O’Handley.

Sherry was a devoted Mother, Granny and a longtime member of the Galt Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary. Her grandchildren were truly her greatest joy. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines, sitting proudly in the audience, or celebrating every achievement, big or small, she was always their biggest fan.
A dedicated and hard working woman, Sherry approached life with strength, resilience, and heart. Beyond the moments she treasured with her family, she loved the simple joys; playing darts, sharing stories, laughing with friends, or dancing at any opportunity. Music had a way of bringing her to her feet, and she never missed a chance to enjoy the moment.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her strength, her vibrant spirit, her unwavering dedication to family, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Forever loved, forever our biggest fan.

Family and friends will be received at Corbett Funeral Home (95 Dundas Street North, Cambridge, ON, N1R 5N6) on Saturday, January 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A mass will follow at St. Ambrose Church at 1:00 p.m., with a celebration of life at the Cambridge Newfoundland Club from 2:00–6:00 p.m.
