BUDWORTH, Shirley (nee Copestake) – It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley, while surrounded by family, on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

Shirley was born in Sheffield, England, married her husband the late Fred Budworth (2009), and then they immigrated to Canada in 1957. Originally settling in St. Catharines, they made Burlington their home in 1966.

They lovingly raised three children Mark Budworth (Hitomi Takano), Sara Budworth (Kevin Blainey) and John Budworth (Holly Russell).

Shirley was a devoted grandma to Jacqueline, Nicole, and Alex Pitre and Kay Takano-Budworth. She will also be missed by many close friends and neighbours.

Shirley will be remembered as wonderful conversationalist with a vibrant, witty personality and an exceptionally kind heart. She adored her dog Georgia. Many happy times were spent around the backyard pool with friends and family or reading a book in her beautiful garden. Shirley spent the last 20 winters visiting Sebastian, Florida and will be missed by many there.

Visitation at Smith’s funeral home, Guelph Line, Burlington on Sunday, January 2nd from 2 – 5 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at the St. Christopher Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line, Burlington on Monday, January 4th at 11:00 a.m.
