Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday August 9, 2025. Beloved Husband of Rita, who he shared 37 wonderful years with. Loving Tato of Stefan (Patricia), and Shawna (Matt). Awesome Dido of Jack & Sofia, and fur-babies Aspen & Jolene. Dear Brother of Irene, Heather, Anna and Peter. Predeceased by his parents and brother Ted. Matthew will also be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousin, friends and card buddies. A special Thank-You to the nephrology department at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassion and care.
For those who knew Matt, knew that he was the kindest hardworking man who would give the shirt off his back if needed. He will be missed beyond words.
Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa for visitation on Tuesday August 12th from 2pm – 4pm & 6pm – 8pm, with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass will take place at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Oshawa on Wednesday August 13th at 10am. Interment to follow at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery, Courtice.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
