SIMEUNOVIC, Nadezda Simeunovic
March 15, 2024 - November 22, 2025
It is with sadness and disbelief that my father and I share the passing of our daughter and sister, Nada, who passed away suddenly on November 22, 2025. Dragisa and the late Mara (2024) immigrated to Canada from the former Yugoslavia in December 1972. Mara gave birth to their eldest child on March 15, 1973. Nada was a quiet and well mannered child who respected our elders, cultural and religious traditions. She was an old soul who enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting and maintaining bonds within our family. She had a wonderful sense of humour wherein, like our Mom, she would be the one to make a random comment that would have all of us laughing within in a split minute. Nada endured several struggles throughout her young life and she persevered with dignity and grace. She lived a quiet life wherein she enjoyed simplicity. She loved for us to be together and sit in the garage enjoying our friendly neighbourhood. Nada leaves behind her father, Dragisa and sister, Ivanka. She is our Angel in heaven with Mama and Keva.
My dad and I would like to thank our extended families including Peer, Zonjic, Seguin and Stooke. To Maureen and Rick, thank you for being with Nada and Dad. There are no words to express how grateful we are that you were with Nada and supporting Dad. Thank you to EMS, Tecumseh Fire and WRH-MET ER for all life saving measures. To Chris Nugent, EMS, thank you for being there for Nada, Dad and me. Nada leaves behind family members and many friends in Canada and Serbia who are all devastated by this loss of life.
Nada was funny. She was kind. She loved to entertain and welcomed everyone to our home. She loved hugs and snuggles under the blanket. She loved music and had a beautiful voice. One of her favourite things was for us to be listening and singing Serbian songs while we cooked or baked. And for Dad, who she always referred to as her best friend. She loved him immensely, as did he her. Nada loved everything Christmas, movies, food and decorations. She enjoyed us sitting in front of the fireplace with a fire roaring and a Christmas movie playing in the background.
In lieu of flowers, please consider celebrating her life with a donation to the Downtown Mission with appreciation from our family.
Private service to be held with gratitude for all messages of love and support and deliveries to our home during a significant time of sadness. Enjoy time with your family. Go for a drive wearing oversized sunglasses and sing the songs playing on the radio out loud. Wear something blue. Enjoy a coffee, hot chocolate or diet coke, all in memory of our beloved Nada.
