SIMPSON, Chad A. Simpson

To most, Chad was a quiet, calm, and confident man. But to those who truly knew and loved him, he was anything but ordinary. Fiercely opinionated, exceptionally intelligent, and frustratingly good at nearly everything he tried.

Chad was passionate about learning; especially when it came to things that required precision and depth. He pursued everything with meticulous care and curiosity. He had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life—a Jeep ride with the doors off and a double-double in hand or a cruise on his Harley with his closest friends. His family, especially his children, and his friends meant the world to him. Among his hobbies of playing board games, building and construction projects, and pinball, Chad was also a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He stayed loyal through every season, every heartbreak, and every hope for “next year.” The games, the jerseys, the banter—it was all part of who he was.

Chad was deeply committed to his role and duties to his Power Workers’ Union (PWU) brothers and sisters. He believed in fairness, respect, and standing up for others—even when it wasn’t easy. He served as a strong advocate for his fellow workers. Whether it was mentoring new members, attending meetings, or taking on leadership roles, Chad gave his time and energy with unwavering dedication. He took pride in building a better workplace and a stronger community, and his contributions will not be forgotten by those who worked alongside him who also became like extended family to him.

Chad was the kind of person who always showed up. Generously he’d help with anything; never asking for anything in return. And while he may have been known for the occasional Irish exit, those closest to him knew his goodbye came with a handshake and his trademark: “take’r easy.”

Chad will be missed more than words can express. His spirit, his laughter, and his love will live on in the lives of all who had the honour of knowing him.

A private interment will be held for Chad. A Celebration of Life is being planned and details will be shared.
