SKRLEC, Frank Skrlec

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Skrlec, who passed away peacefully at the age of 76.

He was the devoted husband of Angela Skrlec (Macciacchera) and the proud and loving father of five children Laura (John), Stephanie, Kristina (Peter), Denise, and Angela (Jonathan).

Frank was born on September 14, 1949, in Zizki, Slovenia. Frank was a cherished and loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Victoria, Sophia, Alexander, Katherine, James, Kenzie, and Emma, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Frank was the beloved son of the late Alojz Skrlec and the late Efemija Skrlec (Zalik). Together they later made their home in Toronto, where Frank grew up and built a life centered on hard work, family, and dedication.

Frank is also lovingly remembered by his sister Stella (Frank) and their children, Rose and Frankie, as well as by his nieces and nephews David, Steve, and Tanya, the children of his late brother Alojz (Rose). Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Alojz and Branko. He will be fondly remembered by his brother in law, William (Macciacchera).

Frank worked for many years as a skilled plumber and was known for his strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Frank also shared many cherished years at Musselman Lake, first spending time at his parents’ cottage and later at the cottage he enjoyed with his young family. These summers became a special part of his life, where he loved gathering with family and friends, creating lasting memories together.

Frank treasured the simple joys of life. He also loved fishing at Six Mile Lake, collecting sports memorabilia, cheering on his favorite teams, and reminiscing about the “good times” including his passion for his 1967 Chevelle SS.

Although he is no longer with us, the love, guidance, and memories he shared will continue to live on in our hearts including among his extended family across Slovenia, Italy, Argentina, and the United States.
