SMITH, David Alexander Davey Smith

November 16, 1946 - September 8, 2025
SMITH, David Alexander Davey Smith

Passed peacefully in his sleep at University Hospital. He fought hard against “Non Alcoholic Cirrhosis of the Liver.” Sadly as a liver transplant was not an option, it was a losing battle.
Davey is survived by his long time partner, Glenna Orton. He was the best stepdad to her sons, Derek and Steve Orton and daughter Lori and husband, Kevin Adams.
Davey loved his granddaughters, “Shannon” & husband Rob Crandall of Ottawa & sons Trent, Tommy & Trevor and “Sheri” & husband Bruce Heitkamp of Tillsonburg & son Colton.
Davey was born to the late William & Annie Smith of Helensburgh, Scotland, a beautiful coastal  town on the Firth of Clyde. He immigrated to London, Ont. on May 16th, 1974. His brother Michael (Mike) resides in Dunblane, Scotland & he will miss Davey immensely.
Davey worked for many years in Accounting at General Motors Diesel before transferring to General Dynamics, where he retired from in 2004.
Following retirement, fun winters were enjoyed in Bullhead City, Arizona. Many lasting friendships were enjoyed there.
Soccer & Golf were sports Davey excelled at. Few will ever match his “8” Holes in One!! His best friend & golf buddy Gordie Cairns will miss him a lot!
As per Davey’s wishes, there will be no Funeral.
