SNELGROVE, Levi “Jim” Snelgrove

Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Born in East York on October 20, 1952, Levi Thomas James Snelgrove of Owen Sound was in his 74th year.

Beloved husband and best friend of Liliane Snelgrove (née Lenz). Proud father of Ryan Snelgrove (Laura), Erin McCall (Adam), and Emily Snelgrove (Marshall). Treasured grandfather of Jackson, Carson, Maya, Aiden, Keira, Lucas, and Dallas.

Levi was the tenth of twelve children. Dear brother of Bram Snelgrove (Wilma), Jack Snelgrove (Lou), Barbara Sipione (Jack), Donna MacDonald (Ian), and Ross Snelgrove (Casey). He was predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Dulcie Snelgrove, and by his siblings Ruby MacDonald (Lorne), Gwen Dooley (Doug), Hedley Snelgrove (Laurie), Sarah Legare (Ralph), Shirley Snelgrove, and Richard Snelgrove. Levi will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Levi took enjoyment in cooking and baking for his wife and family, whom he cherished deeply—especially his grandchildren. He was known for his keen sense of humour and his love of nature, enjoying flowers, gardening, and birds throughout his life. An avid sports enthusiast, Levi enjoyed golfing and watching hockey, football, and basketball. In his younger years, he was a skilled painter and drywaller, and he also had a lifelong love for dogs.

Levi was cherished by his coworkers as well, having worked for many years as a Shipping Supervisor at Natrel Dairy, until his retirement.

In keeping with Levi’s wishes, a graveside service and celebration of Levi’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound (519-376-7492).
