SODERHOLM , Gloria Soderholm

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gloria Soderholm announce her passing on August 15, 2025 at La Verendrye Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born in Fort Frances on August 3, 1957, to Tony and Sis Larocque. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 42 years, Terry, and her daughter Jamie (Chris) Petter. Gloria also leaves behind three beloved grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her brothers: Ed Larocque, Emery Larocque, Danny (Fran) Larocque, Norman (Carole) Larocque, Hylas Larocque, and Roger Larocque; in-laws: Bonnie Larocque, Shirley (Lyle) Smith, Janet Soderholm, Ralph Soderholm, Todd (Becky) Soderholm, and Mark Soderholm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents Tony and Sis Larocque; her brother and sister-in-law Ovide and Sharon Larocque; siblings Jerry Larocque, Sylvia McLennan; sisters-in-law Carol, Jenny, and Sharon Larocque; in-laws Oiva and Mamie Soderholm; and brother-in-law Dennis Soderholm.

Gloria loved people, which made her years in customer service feel natural and rewarding. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Canadian Tire and enjoyed helping others whether on the job or in her daily life.

She cherished time spent on the lake—whether at the family cabin or fishing trips with loved ones. Gloria was a strong woman who passed on life lessons to her daughter, Jamie, with whom she shared a close bond. Together they enjoyed bingo, shopping, and simply spending time side by side.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fort Frances Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s memory may be made to the Riverside Chemo Department. Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd.
