SOULLIRE, Katharine Armal Soulliere

It is with hearts heavy with immeasurable sorrow that we announce the passing of Katharine “Armal” Soulliere (nee Armaly), who departed this world on September 24, 2025 at the age of 69 surrounded by her husband and two children. After a valiant and courageous 10-month battle, she found her peace, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and profound resilience. Her passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled.

Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late David and Margaret Armaly, whose guidance shaped the remarkable woman she became. She was the cherished wife and soulmate of Tom Soulliere, with whom she shared 47 years of unwavering love, laughter, and companionship. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring devotion, a bond that inspired all who witnessed it. A devoted and deeply loved mother, she will be profoundly missed by her children, Stephen Soulliere and Erin McMahon (Dan). The light she brought into their lives will forever guide them, though her physical absence will be a constant ache. Her legacy of love and bliss beautifully continues through her adored grandchildren, Claire and Luke, who were the absolute delights of her later years, and her beloved grand-puppy, Charlie, who brought so much unconditional happiness and playful energy into her home.

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply mourned by her eight siblings, who shared a lifetime of memories and unbreakable bonds: Mary Margaret Major (Paul), Patricia Cruickshank (Doug), Paul Armaly, Anne Gendron (Jeff), Christopher Armaly (Barb), Peter Armaly (Mamie), Frances Lew (Ed) and Theresa St. Pierre (Rene). Additionally, her in-laws—Susie Marcinko, Carol “Dee Dee” Soulliere, Michael Soulliere (Liz), and Gerry Soulliere (Muggs)—were an important part of her life, sharing many treasured moments and strong connections. Kathy was also a dear and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, and her last living aunt, Leona, held a very special place in her heart. Her wide circle of friends, especially Pat Campbell, Pam Skillings and Laura Haggith will keenly feel her absence, remembering her infectious laugh and warm embrace.

Kathy dedicated 34 years of her life as a teacher for the John McGivney Children’s Centre School Authority, where her compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. In her well-deserved retirement, Kathy embraced life with an admirable zest. She found immense pleasure in the simple joys: the camaraderie of golfing and was a dedicated member of Kingsville Golf Course for over 30 years. She also enjoyed the adventure of traveling with her dearest friends and beloved family, and the peaceful solace of spending cherished moments on Cedar Island. These memories, once filled with vibrant life, are now treasured recollections, tinged with the bittersweet knowledge that she is no longer with us to create new ones. Her vibrant spirit, boundless kindness, and unwavering strength will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory will be a beacon, guiding us through our grief.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone at Hospice for their compassionate care and unwavering support during this difficult time. A very special thank you is also extended to the dedicated staff at VON, particularly Laura and Stacey, whose kindness, professionalism, and exceptional care brought immense comfort and peace. Your tireless efforts and genuine empathy will always be remembered and cherished.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Families First, 3260 Dougall Avenue on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Further visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 10-11 AM, followed by a heartfelt tribute from 11 AM – 12 PM. A Celebration of Life with a luncheon will take place from 12-3 PM, where we can share memories and honour Kathy’s remarkable life.

Donations can be made in Kathy’s memory to the John McGivney Centre or Windsor Hospice, organizations that held deep significance for her and provide invaluable support to others in need.
