SPIESZ, Gordon Berkeley Spiesz

It is with great sadness that we announce that (Gordon) Berkeley Spiesz peacefully passed away on February 20th, 2026 at the age of 39 x 2 + 9 years + 21 days. Born January 30th, 1939, in Hanover, Ontario. He will forever be deeply missed by his wife, Kirsten Basser, his children Kara Sue (Rick), Randy, Jack, Chris (Erin), his sister Durene, brother David, and his grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother, Lourdes (Spiesz) McGirr, his father Jack, and his brother, John Henry.Berkeley’s good nature and his comedic timing were always appreciated at Tim Horton’s and at the Highwaymen Car Club. He was a self-appointed expert on all things NASCAR and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He could build a car with a bucket of bolts, a set of tires and a few swear words.Berkeley has joined the Hot Rod Club in Heaven and is waiting to give us all a ride in one when we get there.
