STAM, Henry Stam Obituary

STAM, Henry – Entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2015 at 88 years of age.

Beloved husband of Cornelia Stam and the late Alida Maria (nee VandenBerg-1977). Loving father of Johanna, Hank and Lydia. Step-father of Carol, Nancy, Patricia and John. Treasured Opa of Alida, Miranda, Daniel, Jacinta, Hannah, Karlie, Alia, Emma, Hendrik, Ken, Benjamin, Lara, Rachel and Joel. He is also a Great-Opa to five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Betje, Gijs, Jo and the late Anton and the late Kaatje. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Henry was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who valued his family very much. He was a friend to many, including those of the community of Essex County and the church. He was a dedicated member of the Essex Christian Reformed Church since its inception in the 1950’s. He was a volunteer with the Alzhiemer’s Society for many years. He worked as a Forester for Ontario Hydro for over 30 years in Essex County.

Special thanks to the members of the community of the Town of Essex who assisted in supporting our father’s ability to live independantly throughout his senior years.

Henry is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home, 128 Talbot Street N. in Essex, Ontario on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

On Monday, friends are invited to meet the family after 10 a.m. at the Essex Christian Reformed Church, 276 Talbot Street South in Essex, Ontario followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Lunch to follow. Private family interment in Woodslee.

Donations may be made to the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare-Emara Centre.
