KUN, Steven Kun

KUN, Steven  –  Peacefully, at home on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in his 97th year, Steven Kun, beloved husband of Helen Kun.

Loving father of Helen (Joseph), Richard (Paula), Cathie (Andrew) and the late Stephen Kun Jr. (2016); and father-in-law of Margaret. Dear brother of the late Helen McQueen.

Much-loved grandfather of Rebecca, Jon, Jocelyn, Alex, Melissa, Carolyn, Jason, Gabrielle, David, Reid and the late Andrew (2019); and four great-grandchildren. Steven came to Canada when he was 3.

He settled first in Montreal, and later moved to Brantford, Ontario, where he met his sweetheart, Helen Jakubcsik.

They married in July 1947 and recently celebrated 76 years of marriage. As a teenager, he worked in a chemistry lab and trained as an air cadet.

His grandchildren were his heart and joy. His thirst for lifelong learning will live on in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.

Special thanks to Bayshore (Nancy, Gladys) and Lifeguard (Kelli). Family and friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road North, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford, on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
