STEWART, Robert (Bob) Bruce Stewart

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Bob on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 83. He is now reunited with his wife Yvonne (2012). Beloved father of Marcia and Althea, and devoted grandfather of Shiden. Bob will be dearly missed by his sister Sheila. He is predeceased by his parents Hugh and Juanita Stewart, and his siblings Karl, and Nancy.

Bob was an extremely creative and gifted gardner, winning numerous Civic Rose Awards over the years for his beautiful landscape and garden. His love and knowledge of design led to many home improvements and renovations. Bob was definitely happiest outside during the summer months whether he was gardening or golfing. Bob was a gifted civil engineer and became a Design Supervisor for HATCH & Associates. Also winning several golfing tournaments/trophies for his company over the years. He enjoyed all types of music, and for such a quiet and gentle man he sure did like loud music.

Jazz was his favourite genre of music especially Miles Davis . His love for fish started to form when he was a young child, fascinated and determined to build a fish aquarium this birthed an obsession. When he bought his home in Burlington he incorporated a wall of fish tanks in the downstairs design of his home. This then extended to building a large pond in his backyard where he would spend most of his time relaxing and admiring. Nature and beauty were very important to Bob.

He was a tall, sophisticated man with a kind and giving heart. Bob had a great sense of humour and really enjoyed comedy and laughing. Above all else Bob was a family man. He was a wonderful and hard working provider who would do anything for his family and friends. He played a major role in raising his grandson with whom he shared a very special bond. Bob really enjoyed preparing meals for his daughters and grandson on
Sundays, this was a tradition that made him happy.

Since immigrating to Canada in 1968 from Jamaica, Bob and his wife were dedicated to build a beautiful and secure life for their growing family and that’s exactly what they did. Bob was a man of few words at times, but when he did speak, you listened. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family but he will continued to be celebrated by them. A special thanks to the amazing medical staff at Joseph Brant Hospital. Our family will forever be grateful for all the compassion showed by both the nurses and doctors.
