Bev passed away unexpectedly with her husband by her side on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 64 years. Dearly beloved wife of Chris for 40 years. Survived by her brothers Blair (Paula) and William “Bill”, and brother-in-law Dave (Dianne). Will be missed by her many nieces and nephews: Alex (Libby), Rachel (Joseph), Maureen (Bryan), Christine, Michelle (John), Jim (Nicole) and Rob. Bev will also be missed by her extended family, coworkers and friends.
Everyone who knew Bev loved her. Bev will be remembered as a kind, strong, and generous woman. She was family-oriented, deeply caring for her parents before their passing, and giving to all of her family members in so many ways. Bev was that family member that reached out to cousins to keep extended families connected. To be a friend of Bev was also to be thought of as family, as her friendships were so strong and special to her. Nothing was ever too much for her to do for those she loved.
Bev and Chris enjoyed their time in their Oshawa home and their Bobcaygeon cottage with their beloved Winnie da Poodle. Bev was a very active person, a baseball player in her younger days and a workout enthusiast in later years. She loved her gardens, both at home and at the cottage, and the furry critters that frequented their cottage deck.
In her career, Bev was accomplished and respected. She worked in Finance and Human Resources over 30 years, retiring from Scotiabank as the Director, International Pensions and Benefits. Bev was an admired leader and colleague, establishing strong relationships globally.
Bev went about her life quietly but with poise and grace. She didn’t need to be the center of attention and took joy in building up others and their successes. She has touched so many who feel a tremendous sense of loss at her passing.
A Celebration of Bev’s Life will take place on Sunday, September 14th, 1:00 – 4:00, at the George Ashe Community Centre, 470 Kingston Road, Pickering, Russel Franklin Room.
