STRACHAN, Ronald James Strachan

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December,16th 2025 with his children by his side.
Ron was a devoted husband to the late Annette Strachan for 69 years. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a cherished brother. His kindness and strong presence will be missed by all who knew him
He was the beloved father of the late Stephen Strachan; Linda Binning (John); Cheryl Cooper (Paul); Karen Strachan (Dave); and Mike Strachan (Sinead). Ron took immense pride in his family and leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy.

Ron dedicated 38 years of his working life to Bell Canada, beginning his career at just 18 years old. His strong work ethic and loyalty were hallmarks of both his professional and personal life.

Music and service were also important parts of Ron’s life. He spent many years with the Ajax Legion Pipe Band, where he served as both a drummer and drum major—roles he held with pride, discipline, and passion.

A true builder at heart, Ron found joy in creating with his hands. He loved woodworking, building models, and designing homemade creations. Some of his most treasured projects were made for his family at the cottage, where he famously built dune buggies, dirt bikes, and other vehicles that created lasting memories for generations.

Ron will be remembered for his ingenuity, generosity, and love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many things he built, the music he played, and the family he so dearly cherished.
