POLLOCK, Stuart Pollock
POLLOCK, Stuart Pollock – Our loved brother, father and uncle, passed peacefully, on July 16, 2023 in Scarborough, Ontario, after a long battle with leukemia.
Born May 1, 1954 in Larkhall, Scotland, Stuart was the second child to parents, Robert and Jean.
Crossing the Atlantic on the “Empress of Scotland” with his parents and two year old sister, Annette, the family immigrated to Canada in 1956, landing in Montreal, Quebec, and settling in the quiet suburb of Scarborough, Ontario.
Stuart was a free spirit, a kind soul with a generous heart.
At the age of 17, Stuart graduated high school, worked as a lithographer for one year then travelled Europe for one year. Following in the footsteps of the family trade, Stuart returned home and became a journeyman plumber and a member of Local 46 for 47 years.
He travelled across Canada and the U.S. by car and later, on his motorcycle, he loved camping and was an avid reader.
Stuart and his father shared their daily routine of reading the Sun newspaper and completing the crossword puzzle.
Despite his illness, Stuart always adapted and found ways to make his surroundings comfortable. Loving brother to Annette, and Laura; father to Scott (Hooriya); uncle to James (Amanda), Pamela, and Erica; and great-uncle to Taya, Alyssa, Jaxon, Addison, and Madi.
Predeceased by his loving mother, Jean; and father, Robert.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the neighbours and staff at Scarborough General Hospital for their care over the years.
The family will hold a private ceremony, in lieu of a service.
If you wish, you can donate to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Canadian Red Cross.
