Wife of the late Jim Swartz, mother of Catherine Strickland, married to Jerry Strickland. Grandmother of 5; Bryce, Brianne, Brooke, Madison, and step- grandson Dylan. Loving sister and sister in law of Mark and Irene Windsor, Dwayne and Claire Windsor, and Sandra Kniffen. Loving aunt and great aunt of many! Second mother to all of Catherine’s friends.

Do not cry for me but celebrate,

Celebrate that I have never missed a meal, I have danced in the rain and picniced in the snow. Celebrate me by eating a banana split while watching a beautiful sunset. Celebrate the memories of my parents, grandparents, aunts uncles who showed me love and values and how to have pride in our family. I want to thank my brothers and sister for showing me that you always had my back and it was an honor and joy to watch you succeed in life. I was blessed with the love of a great husband and father for over 40 years, who never forgot to hug and kiss me when he got home. Celebrate the miracle and gift of my daughter who is now my friend and ally and blessing from the day she was born. I was blessed with 4 grandchildren, I had the privilege of watching them grow and stretch to the moon. I was also blessed with so many friends.

So please rejoice with me and remember whether family or friend, I have basked in your love and I have loved you.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Home, 1 Highland Drive, Flesherton on Saturday, September 20th for a memorial service at 11:00am. Reception to follow at the Hanley Institute, 13 Spring Street, Flesherton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Toronto Zoo Guardians of the Wild program or the WWF (for the gorillas in honour of her Granddaughter Madsion’s love of Monkeys) would be greatly appreciated.
